Elden Ring: Rivers of Blood Katana Location Guide

Here is our Elden Ring: Rivers of Blood Katana guide. Find out how to get it!

Elden Ring is a game brimming with content. From powerful enemies to the various classes, there’s a lot to discover. But if you want to maximize your chances against the challenges that the game throws at you, you’re going to need a strong weapon. That is why today we’ll be discussing one of the best bleed weapons, Rivers of Blood Katana, and how you can get it.

Elden Ring Rivers of Blood Katana

Rivers of Blood is one of the most popular weapons in the game due to how versatile it is. With its crimson blood shade, it shreds enemies apart. Although we’ll get into the overview of the weapon later, let’s first discuss how to get the katana as it is a missable weapon.

How to get the Rivers of Blood Katana

Elden Ring: Rivers of Blood Katana

The most important factor in getting the Katana is ensuring that you have not killed the Fire Giant yet. If you have, then you might not be able to get the weapon.

Essentially, you need to fight an NPC invader, Bloody Finger Okina. Once you best it in battle, you will be awarded with the blade alongside 734 Runes, Furlcalling Finger Remedy, and Okina Mask.

However, getting to the invader can be quite a journey. You need to be far into the game, to the point where you unlock Mountaintops of the Giants (the snowy area). The area is past Leyndell, Royal Capital, so if you haven’t reached that yet either, then you’ve still got a long way to go.

But once you’ve reached the Mountaintops of the Giants, you’ll need to head to the Church of Repose. It can be found directly east of the Grand Lift of Rold. Once you’re at the church, the invader will confront you outside.

Okina will be wielding the Rivers of Blood Katana, so do be careful of the slash attacks and bleed build-up. The invader has around 4800 HP, so if you play carefully, you should be able to win with ease.

Rivers of Blood Katana Stats and Uses

Elden Ring: Rivers of Blood Katana

As mentioned earlier, Rivers of Blood Katana is the players’ go-to blade for a great Dex, bleed, or Katana-type weapon. In fact, many of the Samurai or Bleed builds tend to utilize the blade, either double-handed or dual-wielded with another Katana such as the Uchigatana.

Most weapons require you to have certain stats before you can use them. Here are the required stats for Rivers of Blood:

  • Strength – 12
  • Dexterity – 18
  • Arcane – 20

Additionally, the blade scales with these same stats. It has an E-grade scaling for Strength and D-grade scaling for Arcane and Dexterity. You can upgrade the weapon to the +10 variant to push the physical damage from 76 to 186. Your Dexterity scaling will also get pumped to B-grade, thus proving how amazing the weapon is for Dex builds.

One important aspect of the blade that we’ve touched on slightly is its ability to build bleed damage, eventually causing blood loss and removing a large chunk of health. You can increase the effectiveness of the bleed damage by using the Arcane scaling and investing points into Arcane.

Although the blade cannot be infused with any Ashes of War or enchanted with magic, it comes with its own unique skill to compensate for it.

Corpse Pillar is the special skill of Rivers of Blood Katana, and with a mere 17 FP cost, it can inflict some serious damage. The skill is quite like the Double Slash, where you quickly dish out two diagonal slashes in front of you. But the Corpse Pillar is an enhanced version, with a wider range and a lot of bleed build-up. You follow it up with a series of successive attacks, eventually building up the bleed-meter with ease.

With that, you know everything about the Rivers of Blood Katana. It is a devastating weapon with its quick slashes and piercing damage, making it a must-have for any dex or bleed player.
