Elden Ring: Maliketh, the Black Blade Cheese (April 2024)

Today, we bring to you our Elden Ring: Maliketh, the Black Blade cheese guide!

Elden Ring is one of FromSoftware’s largest games to date. With crazy interesting arena designs and strong bosses, the Lands Between never has a single dull moment. Unfortunately, sometimes those bosses can get too difficult, and you need guidance in defeating them. That’s the case with Maliketh, the Black Blade. Therefore, if you have been struggling in your fight against it, then we’ve got the perfect Elden Ring Maliketh Cheese for you!

Elden Ring Maliketh, the Black Blade Cheese

Elden Ring: Maliketh, the Black Blade Cheese

Maliketh is a Legend boss found in Crumbling Farum Azula. The fight is split into two phases, with the first being the Beast Clergyman and the second being Maliketh the Black Blade. As the fight is late into the game, it comes with no surprise that it is quite tough. And the fact that the boss is not optional makes it all the more frustrating.

From its claw attacks to being able to lunge throughout the arena, keeping up with the boss can be difficult. However, if you’re able to keep Maliketh distracted somehow, you’ll be able to land sneaky hits and eventually reduce its health without much trouble.

It is worth noting that since the patch, any form of glitch methods don’t work on Maliketh. So the cheese will actually require you to use certain items to play tactfully instead. Regardless, the method to be discussed will still make the fight a lot easier. You’ll need certain items for the cheese, so let’s dive in and get you prepared for the fight.

Shabriri’s Woe

Elden Ring: Maliketh, the Black Blade Cheese

The first item that you’ll need is an optional keepsake and a Talisman, The Shariri’s Woe. It constantly attracts enemies towards the withholder.

Now that might not make sense initially because we want to get away from Maliketh for sneak attacks. However, if you consider that the Mimic Tear Summon creates a clone of you and will also have the Talisman, it’ll mean that the boss will be attracted to your mimic instead.

You can get the Shabriri’s Woe as a Keepsake at the start of the game. You can also get it from the Frenzied Flame Village as shown on the map.

Mimic Tear Ashes

Mimic Tear Ashes are a summon that creates an exact copy of your character. It will have all your weapons, armor, incantations, etc. You’ll need the summon to distract Maliketh while you go in for sneak attacks.

You can find the Mimic Tear Ashes in a chest in Night’s Sacred Ground. Make sure to take a Stonesword key with you as you will need to get past an Imp Statue to get to the chest.

Use Any Strong Weapon

Lastly, you will need a weapon with a strong ability. We recommend the Rivers of Blood Katana as it has great attacks in the mid-range. Furthermore, you can use the bleed buildup to further damage Maliketh. However, if you have any other weapon that you prefer, you can use it too as long as it can take out a good chunk of health with each hit.

The Method

Elden Ring: Maliketh, the Black Blade Cheese

Now that we’ve got everything that we need, let’s move on to the actual method for the Maliketh Cheese. As soon as the fight starts, head towards the pillar on your right and hide behind it. This will give you enough time to summon your Mimic and get shielded from any initial oncoming attacks.

Once you spawn the Mimic, you both will have the Shabriri’s Woe Talisman. But if you unequip it yourself, only the summon will have it and the boss will focus on attacking it.

As Maliketh/Beast Clergyman will be distracted by your Mimic, you can come behind it and attack with any weapon of your choice. Keep attacking till you drain it of its health. Once you do, the second phase will begin.

Your summon will get carried over to the second phase. But as soon as the phase starts, you’ll want to roll forward to dodge the incoming slash attack. Once you get through that, Maliketh will again shift its focus on your Mimic. You can repeat the same strategy as phase 1 to clear the boss.

With that, you know everything about the Elden Ring Maliketh Cheese. The fight has frustrated many players, but with our tips, you’ll defeat Maliketh with ease.
