V Rising: Is It Worth It? 2024 (April)

Today we try to answer the question — V Rising: Is It Worth It?

V Rising has been all the talk ever since its early access release on 17th May 2022. While the title has seen variable ratings on different platforms, it’s safe to assume that the game is looking promising. That being said, all of this begs one question, is the game worth it?

V Rising: Is It Worth It?

In simple terms, V Rising possesses an extremely addicting multiplayer. Since the game is built around progression, it’s safe to assume that any fan of MMORPGs or ARPGs, in general, will love every moment of it. Thus, we would recommend it!

Having said that, there are a few aspects where the game feels a bit incomplete. Therefore, you might not get the experience that you might be expecting, but it’s worth a download.

In this review, I will be listing down the defining features of the game along with what makes it so fun to play. Consequently, we will also be taking a look at its downsides, so let’s jump in.

V Rising: What Makes It So Unique?

The basic premise of the game is simple, you get to play in an open-world server along with fellow vampires where the main goal is to progress through the quests in order to get as strong as possible. You have a complete map that houses green villages and dark forests.

However, the game takes a unique take on this basic MMORPG experience by introducing building mechanics. You get to own a well-furnished Castle along with the ability to expand and purchase real estate. Furthermore, there’s the concept of Vampire Hunters.

Is V Rising Fun To Play?

In all fairness, it’s safe to say that V Rising is extremely fun to play solely because of the fact that it executes the MMORPG aspect flawlessly. While there are still some areas that can benefit from some fine-tuning, it’s only a matter of time before frequent updates take care of it.

That being said, it’s rather difficult to judge a game as a whole. Therefore, we will be breaking down each aspect to see whether the game is worth your time or not.

Gameplay and Combat

The basic premise of the gameplay is rather simple, you cast your abilities to kill enemies. While you do possess certain active items, it’s basically how an MMORPG should be. That being said, the mechanics are quite smooth and purposeful, so it’s fair to conclude it as a plus.

Multiplayer

The game is built on the aspect of multiplayer. You have the option to go on solo quests, play with friends on private servers or even join them in the open world servers. You can even create your own server if you desire. That being said, this metric also receives a major plus.

Visuals

Despite having a top-down camera angle, it’s fair to say that the game looks visually stunning. With next-gen graphics, casting spells rarely look this good. Furthermore, most of the game’s appeal lies within its gothic atmosphere, and it’s definitely up to the mark and above.

Entertainment Factor

While the game does everything great, it does have a tendency to feel stale at times. For example, you would be stuck at a certain point in the story for ages if you do not possess sufficient Greater Blood Essences.

Sadly, there is nothing much to do other than scraping everything you have in order to challenge the vampire hunter again and again. In essence, there are multiple points in the game that feel somewhat untuned when it comes to gameplay and story progression.

Conclusion

All in all, it’s safe to conclude that the answer to V Rising: Is It Worth It? is yes, the game is very much worth purchasing. While there are certain areas of improvement, V Rising still continues to deliver a great experience as a game. Therefore, you won’t have to look for another ARPG anytime soon.

Not played V Rising yet? It can be found on Steam for a pretty cheap price! Keep in mind that it’s still early access, so it’s not a fully complete game.
