V Rising: Iron Mining Guide

This is our complete V Rising: Iron Mining guide.

Mining Iron in the outskirts of Vardoran is mandatory for surviving the harsh vampiric world of V Rising. Despite being a survival-based world, the game incorporates basic building and mining to a realistic level. However, sourcing the Iron to build stronger items can be hard.

V Rising: Iron Mining Guide

Iron can be mined with a Merciless Copper Mace and is abundantly present in the middle of the map. You will be needing an Iron smithy to make the most out of this resource. Once the Bandit King has been defeated, the need for Iron will be immense.

Needless to say, mining Iron is a bit different than materials like copper due to its high procuring difficulty. Therefore, it’s generally recommended you make the trip after obtaining a smithy.

In this guide, I will show you the ins and outs of using Iron as your base material in order to create stronger armaments. With that said, let’s jump in and get started!

How To Use Iron in V Rising?

V Rising: Iron Mining Guide

Iron is only usable after the smelting process. Therefore, you would need to make a trip to your castle to smelt Iron in order to make the most out of it. Having said that, Iron is the next best material after the readily available copper.

Hence, we recommend you mine large batches of Iron before heading back to the furnace. Once the smelting process is completed, you can use the smithy to craft stronger gear (items & weapons) for yourself.

Obtaining Iron in the World of Vardoran

As mentioned, you will be needing a Copper Mace or a stronger mining tool in order to mine the Iron, as anything below that will simply not match the hardness of iron ores. Having said that, Iron also spawns within the chests throughout Vardoran, so mining is not required.

Mining Methodology

The fastest method of obtaining Iron is by mining it in the due south of Dunley Farmlands. You will have to fight your way through in order to reach the mine. Therefore, make sure to be sufficiently leveled up.

As a rough estimate, you will need to be around level 35 – if you want to breeze through the area. That being said, the dangers are not only limited to the outside area of the mine, so keep your guard up even while mining.

Looting Methodology

The chests containing Iron are spread throughout the world. Therefore, you will naturally come across them if you continue doing dungeons and quests. However, the supply here is rather limited. Thus, it’s better to consider chest loot as lucky freebies instead.

Needless to say, you should still loot as many chests as possible during your exploration. They have a fairly decent chance of containing high-tier loot that can help you progress through the area much more smoothly than intended.

How To Mine Iron in V Rising?

You will need to equip the Merciless Copper Mace in order to mine the Iron. Once you find it in the mine, simply auto-attack it in order to mine as much iron as you want. There is no hard and fast rule for the mining angle, so just hit it until it breaks.

Once that is done, simply proceed to the next closes blob of Iron and repeat the steps. You can leave the mine to come back for more later. Therefore, don’t hesitate to bleed it dry during your ventures.

Conclusion

In essence, obtaining Iron is relatively simple as long as you understand the know-how. You will need to venture into the Haunted Iron Mine in order to obtain Iron. However, the path is rather perilous. Therefore, make sure to become sufficiently stronger before venturing in.

Not played V Rising yet? It can be found on Steam for a pretty cheap price! Keep in mind that it’s still early access, so it’s not a fully complete game.
