Gepard Story Introduction
The captain of the Silvermane Guards, Gepard, is the brother of the Landau siblings. As the person in charge of defending Belobog’s safety from the hostile world, Gepard holds a very important role that impacts thousands or even hundreds of thousands of citizens in Belobog. With peace and comfort, scream out loudly thanks to Gepard’s leadership and protection; even the eternal winter that coats Belobog won’t be able to shake Gepard’s iron will defend Belobog.
In the beginning, we will meet Sampo, and thanks to that event, the butterfly effect starts to scatter, so the Trailblazer, Dan Heng, and March 7th meet Gepard for the first time.
Since Gepard is directly related to Belobog, meeting him will also lead us indirectly towards Serval, his biological sister, and even with Bronya, the commander of the Silvermane Guards, and all those Underworld people that lived underground, below Belobog, literally. After that, slowly but surely, the fate of Belobog starts to shift, waiting for you to reveal the truth behind the eternal winter that Gepard always faces, protecting the peaceful Belobog.
Best Gepard Build in Honkai Star Rail
Since Gepard is a Preservation Path character, his kit revolves around giving shield to your team. With his skill that has a chance to freeze the enemy and apply ice DoT, he can actually dish out big damage due to the high multiplier for his skill that scales from his ATK. But his bread and butter is his Ultimate that will apply shield based of Gepard’s DEF for 3 turns.
For Gepard’s Relics and Planar Ornament build, it would be better to invest on his DEF instead of his ATK since Gepard is more suitable to act as your shielder. 4 set DEF Relics Knight of Purity Palace is the best Relics for Gepard since it will also buff the shield endurance. For the Planar Ornament itself, you can go with either DEF or HP Planar Ornament, which we would suggest more on the former so that Gepard will be able to tank more damage from his shield. If you want to rely on Gepard’s freeze application from his skill, you can also use the Effect Hit Rate Planar Ornament so that you will have a higher chance to apply the freeze debuff to the enemy.
As for Gepard’s Light Cone build, you can focus on the Preservation Path Light Cone, since we can’t activate the effect from the other Light Cone’s Path. Here are the best Light Cone, Relics, Planar Ornament, and the best Team Comp for Gepard.
Gepard Build: Best Light Cones
The best Light Cones for Gepard are:
- Moment of Victory
- Day One of My New Life
Moment of Victory
Increases the wearer’s DEF by 24/30/36/42/48% and Effect Hit Rate by 20/25/30/35/40%.
Increases the chance for the wearer to be attacked by enemies.
When the wearer is attacked, increase their DEF by an additional 24/30/36/42/48% until the end of the wearer’s turn.
Gepard’s Best in Slot Light Cone and also his Signature Light Cone.
DEF and Effect Hit Rate are the attributes that Gepard needs, and you can gain even higher DEF if you got attacked by the enemies.
This Light Cone itself will give the highest DEF so you will have the most sturdier shield from his Ultimate.
Day One of My New Life
Increases the wearer’s DEF by 16/18/20/22/24%.
After entering battle, increases DMG RES of all allies by 8/9/10/11/12%. Effects of the same type cannot stack.
The best four-star Light Cone for Gepard.
It will increase the DEF to make the shield harder and increase your team’s DMG RES.
Increases the wearer’s DEF by 16/20/24/28/32%.
If the wearer’s current HP is less than 50% of their Max HP, increases their DEF by a further 16/20/24/28/32%.
The budget F2P Light Cone for Gepard.
If you can superimpose this Light Cone to the max, it can even lowkey surpass Day One of My New Life due to the higher DEF buff.
Gepard Build: Best Relics
For Gepard, as a preservation character, you only need to invest a lot in DEF due to his shielder role. Right now, there is only one recommended relic for Gepard: the 4-set DEF Knight of Purity Palace.
Knight of Purity Palace
2 Set: Increases DEF by 12%.
4 Set: Increases the max DMG that can be absorbed by the shield created by the wearer by 20%.
Gepard Build: Best Planar Ornaments
Similar to how we would use the DEF Relics for Gepard, you also want to increase more DEF for Gepard from the Planar Ornaments too. But if you don’t have DEF Ornaments yet, you can go with Effect Hit Rate or HP Ornaments. But remember, if you can have the chance to increase his DEF, prioritize that over everything else.
These are the best Planar Ornaments for Gepard:
- Belobog of the Architects
- Fleet of the Ageless
- Pan-Galactic Commercial Enterprise
Belobog of the Architects
2 Set: Increases the wearer’s DEF by 15%.
When the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate is 50% or higher, the wearer gains an extra 15% DEF.
Fleet of the Ageless
2 Set: Increases the wearer’s Max HP by 12%.
When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, all allies’ ATK increases by 8%.
Pan-Galactic Commercial Enterprise
2 Set: Increases the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate by 10%.
Meanwhile, the wearer’s ATK increases by an amount that is equal to 25% of Effect Hit Rate, up to a maximum of 25%.
Best Teams for Gepard in Honkai Star Rail
As a shielder, you can potentially even ignore the Abundance Path character because his shield could potentially already be enough so that you don’t need to have any healer anymore. This is only possible if you invest a ton of DEF for Gepard.
You can instead go with Harmony Path to substitute the Abundance Path characters. But the most important thing is to pair Gepard with at least one damage dealer character since he lacks the damage that you will need. Either pair Gepard with Destruction Path, Hunt Path, or Erudition Path characters, and you will be alright.
Here are some examples of Gepard’s Team Composition.
That is how you can get the best build for Gepard. You need to know that Honkai Star Rail is still in the 3rd (final) Close Beta phase, meaning that there will potentially be some adjustments and different configurations for the final release. The higher your DEF, the thicker your shield will be, and the more you can withstand tougher damage. So if you have Gepard, always invest in DEF and DEF and DEF as much as you can!
