Wondering how to make a Lava Fountain in Minecraft? Let’s take a look and find out!
The best part about Minecraft is that there is no limit to what you can do in the game. Whether you want to use mods or play the game in its base version, you can do tons of things that you think of. The only limit is your creativity. One fun thing that you can do is make a lava fountain. That is why this guide will show you how to make a lava fountain in Minecraft.
How to Make a Lava Fountain in Minecraft
To make a lava fountain in Minecraft, you need to collect the required materials and create a base layer for the fountain. Then, continue building the fountain as high as you want. Finally, place some lava source blocks on top to let them flow. The ideal material to use for the base and other layers is the Polished Blackstone blocks.
That is just the gist of how you can create a lava fountain. If you want to find out every step in detail, then continue reading to find out how many materials you need and what you need to do. With that said, let’s dive right in.
Why Make a Lava Fountain in Minecraft?
Before we discuss what materials you need to use and how you can make a lava fountain, let’s discuss why you want to build it. The answer for this is quite simple: the lava fountain looks superb and will add to your place’s aesthetic. You can make any design you want and place it in front of your house or any other area that you want. Plus, it is easy to make so why not make a beautiful lava fountain without too much effort.
Materials Needed for a Lava Fountain
Now that you are ready to make a lava fountain, let’s find out what materials you will need to do it. You can use any material that doesn’t burn with lava. However, I found the Blackstone blocks to have a good aesthetic to them and look good with the lava flowing on top of them.
If you want to make the fountain from the Blackstone blocks, then I suggest that you collect at least 20-25 Blackstone blocks. Apart from that, you need:
- Lava bucket
- Fire Resistance Potion
The potion is to help you avoid taking any damage when too close to lava while in the process of making the fountain. Otherwise, you’ll more than likely die before you have the chance to finish it.
Making the Lava Fountain
After collecting all of the materials, you can start by making a base layer by adding 5×5 Blackstone blocks. After that, you can remove the corner blocks to make a more unique and good shape. Now, you need to dig the inside of the base in a 3×3 area. Replace the dirt with any blocks of your choosing.
Once you have successfully done that, you need to make a single column in the middle of the column by using the Blackstone blocks. You can make it as high as you want. Now, take out your bucket of lava and place it on top of the column you just made. This will start flowing the lava without it overflowing. Plus, the Blackstone blocks are resistant to lava so you don’t have to worry about burning them.
This is obviously a basic way of making a fountain in Minecraft. You can make any type of fountain that you like – as seen in the image above. The more complex you want to make, the more materials you will need. Regardless of what design you choose, make sure to make a 5×5 base and dig out the dirt so that the lava does not overflow. Also, you can make multiple lava sources fall down to add depth to your design as well. As mentioned earlier, your creativity is the limit.
That’s all there is to know about how to make a lava fountain in Minecraft. Make sure that you properly plan out your design before you start working on it. Otherwise, you might have to scrap the entire project if you run into a problem. Plus, you can check out some wacky and unique designs on YouTube or Google to see if you like them. There are tons of great designs with detailed tutorials available that you can easily make. Otherwise, you can always make the original design that you have in mind.
