Here is our V Rising: best castle defense guide!
Being awakened as a warlord certainly has its perks to it when it comes to raiding bases in V Rising. However, the same can happen to you as well, and it’s not the best experience to go through. That being said, a little bit of planning is all it takes to procure the ultimate defense.
In V Rising, it’s better to go for walled-off areas when expanding your castle. Furthermore, the layout of the castle also matters since you essentially want to lure your enemies through a set path of defensive layers in order to get the most out of it.
Needless to say, a good offense is often considered a good defense. Therefore, you won’t have to worry much about your loot getting robbed if you have sufficient countermeasures.
In this guide, I will be highlighting the best practices when it comes to siege proofing your castle in V Rising. With that being said, let’s jump in and get started!
V Rising: Best Castle Defense Guide
Raiding the enemy bases is a core experience in V Rising. You get to showcase your superiority, gain a phenomenal amount of loot, and even teabag your fellow Vampires. However, protecting can often be harder than destroying.
Having said that, let’s take a look at the best castle defense strategies present in V Rising:
Strategy #1: Add Decoys
In V Rising, high-level raiding can turn out to be a big deal in a server. For example, siege golems are a great way of destroying the outer walls of a fortified castle. However, the entire server is notified of such activities.
Therefore, the amount of time a raid can go on is relatively constrained. This is because third parties can interfere with raids. Thus, as a raider, your opponent will be looking to grab anything he/she can before dipping out.
Luckily, you can make their task feel like hell by mixing in decoy chests, pathways, and doors. Since they’re short on time, you won’t be losing much no matter what. Plus, you might even keep them there long enough for your friends to arrive and save the day.
Strategy #2: Create a Bunch of Warrior Servants
In V Rising, there are a bunch of servant classes that have their own unique set of characteristics, abilities, and perks. Since no servant is similar to the other, you will often find a lot of rare specimens that have their own unique traits.
That being said, these traits can be used to create unique and strong warrior class servants that can defend the castle with you or in your absence. For best results, it’s generally better to group them to guard precious resources, equipment, and treasures.
However, this can also be used to trick your enemies. Simply place the servants near the fake chests in an attempt to lure the raiders from the actual resources.
Is Building Mazes Worth it in V Rising?
Generally, it can be good to lay your walls in a maze pattern in order to fortify your Castle. However, the main premise is to prevent leakages, not create artistic patterns. Therefore, it’s recommended that you focus on deploying these walls in a way that the enemies can’t just breach into the entire castle after just one breach.
There should be multiple layers of defense, carefully laid out defensive structures, and misleading decoy placement in order to make a base “Raid proof”. Having said that, it’s still possible to get value out of mazes as long as you place the correct walls in the weak points.
Not played V Rising yet? It can be found on Steam for a pretty cheap price! Keep in mind that it’s still early access, so it’s not a fully complete game.
