V Rising: Highland Lotus Farming Guide 2024 (April)

Here’s our V Rising: Highland Lotus farming guide! Learn how to plant and farm Highland Lotus, along with its uses and locations.

V Rising features a multitude of late-game items that can flip the entire game on its head. While some tend to stand out from the rest through their jaw-dropping properties, others like highland lotus act under shadows while being a part of every strong vampiric build.

The Highland Lotus can be grown from the Highland Lotus Seed, which can be obtained from the purchasing mechanics. Simply visit Ottar the Merchant in the Brighthaven Slums of the Silverlight Hills Region and purchase a bunch from him.

Needless to say, farming highland lotus isn’t only limited to the purchasing aspect. Rather, the quality of a highland lotus is only determined based on the care it receives.

In this guide, I will be taking you through the proper method of planting and farming Highland Lotus along with its uses and farming locations. Therefore, let’s jump in and get started!

Best Highland Lotus Farming Locations in V Rising

As mentioned, Highland Lotus can be extremely useful as it provides Silk – which is an extremely integral material for crafting late-game armor sets. While you can theoretically encounter patches of it while traveling in Vardoran, it’s better to make it more efficient.

This can be done by heading to the lotus patches in the Northern and Southern Harpy Nest. While you will find more patches in the latter one, the Northern nest is relatively safer in comparison.

Having said that, both areas are located in Silverlight hills and can be accessed once you reach a sufficient level.

How To Purchase Highland Lotus Seeds

If spending countless hours farming is not your cup of tea, then it’s also possible to obtain Highland Lotus by purchasing it from a merchant. While you will still need to drag yourself across the Brighthaven docs in Silverlight Hills, the entire process will be rather low-effort.

Having said that, Ottar the Merchant will be located in the Brighthaven Slums. Once you find him, it will be possible to purchase Highland Lotus through his wares. However, the seeds are relatively end-game. Therefore, one stack can cost you around 200 Silver Coins.

Planting Highland Lotus

Once the seeds have been obtained, you will need to head to the garden of your Castle in order to plant them. In order to do this, simply follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Drag the seed to your action bar, so it gets assigned to that particular slot.
  • Once that is done, simply press the key attached to that slot while hovering your mouse in the required location.

The action key can be verified from the control settings if you’re unsure of what you set beforehand. Consequently, Highland Lotus can be placed on both dirt and Garden Floors. Therefore, you will be good to go as long as you have sufficient area.

Farming Grown Highland Lotus

Since you’re essentially planting the seeds, it will take them a while to grow. You can check on them once a day in order to see their progress. It generally takes a couple of days for them to be ready for the harvesting process.

Luckily, there’s not much to do here. Simply click on the patch in order to harvest it. While the methods of growing and farming seeds are easier than exploring them in the wild, they can still set you back moderately if you’re not careful with your silver.

Conclusion

In essence, farming Highland Lotus can feel expensive due to the seed costs. However, the process is rather simple and streamlined. Therefore, you won’t have to do much other than keep track of the harvesting time. While the system will automatically indicate it for you, it’s still recommended you check on them once in a while to chase out thieving cats.

Not played V Rising yet? It can be found on Steam for a pretty cheap price! Keep in mind that it’s still early access, so it’s not a fully complete game.
