This is our complete V Rising: best PvP abilities guide. We’ll be showing you all of the current best abilities to use in PvP.
V Rising is widely known for its amazing multiplayer mechanics and experiences. While the open-world exploration is one aspect of the game, trashing your fellow players in PvP combat is an extreme joy in itself. That being said, certain PvP abilities do tend to be unfair.
V Rising: Best PvP Abilities
In PvP, abilities like Chaos Volley and Power Surge are unbeatable, whereas AOE skills like the Purgatory and Wisp Dance act as a great enabler for you in battle. However, the Sanguine Coil’s health steal is nothing to scoff at either.
That being said, the game isn’t about stacking the most powerful abilities together. Rather, it’s more about creating harmony. Thus, a strong spell might not always be the correct way.
In this guide, I will be listing down the best PvP abilities present in V Rising along with their specific use scenarios, so let’s jump in and get started!
V Rising: High Tier PvP Abilities
As mentioned, a strong ability is not always the way to go if it makes the rest of your kit obsolete. Therefore, we will be taking a look at the most useful ones instead. However, they’re still decent enough to turn the tide of a battle if used correctly.
With that being said, here are the best abilities to use in the V Rising PvP:
Ability #1: Sanguine Coil
The Sanguine Coil is a blood ability that allows you to deal 75% magic damage to an enemy by launching a crimson projectile at them. While the single-target damage might be low, it more than makes up for it by stealing 40% of the target’s health upon impact.
In theory, this ability can cost the enemy their entire health bar’s worth of damage if not dodged correctly. The only drawback here is its projectile nature.
How to obtain: Head to Meredith the Bright Archer in the Dunley Farmlands and defeat him to gain this ability.
Ability #2: Wisp Dance
The Wisp Dance allows you to cast three magic projectiles in the form of Wisps. Upon successful impact, they can apply a debuff on the target that reduces its attack damage by 30%. Consequently, it’s also possible to recast this ability and deal 50% magic damage.
In total, the base damage of the Wisp Dance can be around 125% when it comes to pure magic-based damage. The recasting aspect of this ability makes it perfect for spamming against tricky opponents.
How to obtain: Head to the Gorecrusher the Behemoth in the Cursed Forest and defeat him to gain this ability.
Ability #3: Purgatory
This is a long cast ability that essentially allows you to create a zone where all the incoming enemies are slowed for the first second. If any allies are present in this area then they’re healed for 40% of your spell power.
Upon cast, a pillar of energy is formulated, that explodes after a few seconds, dealing 75% magic damage. Consequently, you and your teammates are also affected by the explosion and are healed for 75% of your spell power.
How to obtain: Defeat Christina the Sun Priestess in order to unlock this ability.
How Do Abilities Work in V Rising?
The abilities in V Rising fall under five basic categories of Unholy, Frost, Blood, Chaos, and Illusion. Luckily, the ability system in V Rising does not lock you down to a single category. Therefore, it’s possible to choose a distinct combination for yourself.
Needless to say, you will only be able to choose two basic abilities. The first one will be your primary ability, whereas the second one will be considered your Ultimate.
Not played V Rising yet? It can be found on Steam for a pretty cheap price! Keep in mind that it’s still early access, so it’s not a fully complete game.
